Building on all the work that has been carried out to date, the Green Fort Archaeology Project will begin archaeological excavations at the site in June 2025. The project will involve opening an excavation trench in the fort interior to investigate how the complex developed through time. “We hope to gain an insight into the nature of the buildings, structures and features that once occupied the fort, thus shedding light on the lives of those stationed there during the 17th century.
