The Scotland and Lions No 10 can split opinion Finn Russell might never shake his ‘maverick’ reputation, but Andy Goode believes the Scotland international is now the all-round fly-half who can lead Bath to EPCR Challenge Cup glory on Friday night.

The Northampton Saints, England and now British & Irish Lions No.10 will be going head-to-head with one of the most exciting fly-halves on the planet in Bordeaux-Bègles star Jalibert in a match which will be shown live on Premier Sports 1. It will be their first meeting since the Guinness Six Nations, when Smith earned Player of the Match honours at Allianz Stadium in his first Test start as England got the better of eventual champions France.

The former hooker is relishing the head-to-head on the wing between Tommy Freeman and Louis Bielle-Biarrey, who last went up against each other during England’s Six Nations win over France in February. On that occasion, Freeman towered above his jet-heeled counterpart to take a Fin Smith cross-field kick and score – a tactic Kayser wouldn’t be surprised to see Saints try and replicate at Principality Stadium in a clash being shown exclusively live on Premier Sports 1.

Before the days of emails and text, rugby players like Pontypool hooker Bobby Windsor were told to prepare for the pinnacle of their careers, a British & Irish Lions Tour, with a letter through the post. The steelworker had only earned Wales selection earlier that season, making his debut against Australia in Cardiff in November 1973. But after impressive performances in the Five Nations, Lions selectors enquired as to Windsor’s availability for the 1974 Tour to South Africa.

Commentator on Prem Sports needs to take his Toulon glasses off Love Serin but he knew what he was doing

Looking at the below from Charlie, part of me wonders whether Jamie George will end up starting at hooker against Argentina in the first match of the Lions Tour Even if a six-day turnaround is possible, it's a big ask in the front row where every hooker and TH could play a final

Am told Lions involved in the Premiership or URC finals on June 14 *can* play against Argentina on June 20. Would expect loads to be managed carefully for anyone on a six-day turnaround, obviously. Leinster-Glasgow URC final (16 Lions potentially involved) makes it interesting.
