    A pensioner from Alton could be facing imprisonment after admitting to a host of historic child abuse charges. James McKell pleaded guilty to nine counts when he appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday, May 13). The 82-year-old of Ackender Road admitted to seven counts of non-penetrative sexual activity with a boy under the age of 16 at an address in Alton during the 2000s.

The “truly inclusive school” got top marks in all five categories with three inspectors lavishing praise on everything from leadership and management to early years provision in their glowing report. “Pupils value the kindness and support of staff who care for them very well.     The family-friendly trail is a great way for local people and visitors to learn more about the different types of bees and their habitats around Farnham. Hive Helpers founder, Erica Evans, talks about the trail at the launch event. The guides have 12 blank spaces as each location has a rubbing plate, with town mayor, Cllr Brodie Mauluka, making the first etching at the launch event last week.

Dawn Champion from the British Pilgrimage Trust will talk about the history of the practice and why it’s becoming so popular and relevant today. Farnham can claim to being one of the oldest walking and pilgrimage centres in the UK given its links to the Pilgrim Way and Harrow Way. A micro-pilgrimage around the town centre will follow the talk.
