Hydra (pronounced EE-drah by the locals) is a small and idyllic Greek island less than two hours ferry-ride from Athens. It's also where the Canadian writer and singer Leonard Cohen bought a home and lived in the 1960s. I'm a huge Cohen fan and have visited to the island multiple times. I even got married on the island. Nowadays, Hydra is a destination for a wealthier, more touristy crowd than back in 1960 when a twenty-six year-old Cohen bought his house here.
