There are delays on the M5 near Bristol this afternoon due to a police incident. Restrictions have been put in place southbound on Avonmouth Bridge on Saturday, June 7. The traffic site Inrix is reporting heavy delays on the motorway. It happened at about 2.15pm. Delays are reported between junctions 18 and 19. Inrix says: "Police incident and restrictions on M5 Avonmouth Bridge Southbound from J18 M49 to J19 A369 Martcombe Road (Portishead).

Dramatic photos show a massive land, sea and air rescue operation in Cornwall. Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team were alerted to a casualty in the Barrowfields area. A major operation involving the RNLI lifeboat, ambulance crews and coastguard helicopter helped to bring the injured person to safety. A 14-year-old schoolboy may have to have his feet amputated after being electrocuted at the prestigious Millfield School in Somerset. Chase Allen, described by friends and family as a talented young athlete, was rushed to hospital alongside two other pupils after coming into contact with a high voltage cable on Saturday, May 3. The incident prompted an emergency response from the air ambulance, a specialist hazard team, fire crews, and police officers who attended last weekend.
