We’re still on track for potential severe weather Thursday across much of Minnesota. A couple rounds of storms may pack golf ball to baseball size hail 2 to 3 inches in diameter Thursday across parts of Minnesota into Wisconsin. For the Twin Cities, two rounds of storms look likely. One in the morning and another in the afternoon hours. You can read my more detailed post on Thursday’s severe weather risk here. Be alert for possible severe weather watches and warnings Thursday.

Keep an eye to the sky Thursday around much of Minnesota. A storm system will spawn thunderstorms that may produce severe weather. Goodbye May, Hello summer! At least on the weather maps for the several days. An unseasonably warm air mass will build across the Upper Midwest starting Friday. High temperatures will soar into the 80s once again across most of Minnesota. Sunday through Tuesday looks like the warmest days of this early-season heat wave. Highs will likely exceed 90 degrees in much of western Minnesota early next week. We have a good shot at reaching the record high of 88 degrees in the Twin Cities on Sunday afternoon.
