Businesses using the Orwell Bridge near Ipswich in Suffolk have said essential safety work on a bridge has caused “chaos”, and questioned why they need to be done during the tourist season. Two expansion joints on the westbound carriageway are being replaced in a project that will take until August. The BBC reports there was severe delays on the A14, A12 and roads around Ipswich due to one lane being closed on the bridge, which carries container traffic using the Port of Felixstowe.

Work to turn the A9 south of Inverness between Tomatin and Moy is moving on with realignment works taking place at various sections along the route. The project has experienced something of a chequered history since it was re-tendered in 2023 because the only bid stood at £170 million – far in excess of the orginal £115 million budget, however current estimates put the cost of the project at £308 million.

RT @CJPhillips1982: Retweet this to win a teamsheet from Wembley signed by Kevin Maher https://t.co/s7oWurV0Nz

Relieved to say I was lucky to get my ticket. But it shouldn’t have been so hard. Please sign @CJPhillips1982’s petition. https://t.co/ZsvrxVKRhb

Reflecting on the sh*tshow that's tickets @SUFCRootsHall - @OfficialOAFC. I'm not only furious for fans like me, but for the players. Blues players were so loyal through the club crisis and deserve a packed Wembley, not empty seats @CJPhillips1982 @JeffStelling @BroadcastMoose
