Wausau trailed by as many as five runs and cut the lead to one run in the eighth inning before a three-run home run from Noah Ruiz sealed the win for the Rafters.

Wausau Pilot & ReviewWAUSAU – A three-run fifth inning propelled the Marshfield baseball team to a 4-2 win over Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference matchup Tuesday at Wausau East High School. The Lumberjacks (11-10, 5-6 Wisconsin Valley Conference) led 2-0 after Iain Stahel and Zach Pagel drove in runs in the first two innings. Marshfield then responded with the three-run third, tacked on another in the seventh, and held on for the win as Chase Robinson saved the win for Tyler Kremer.

For Wausau Pilot & ReviewKENOSHA – After a close, pitcher-dominant game went in Wausau’s favor on Opening Day, Kenosha responded by winning a tight contest on Tuesday night, 3-2 over the Woodchucks in Northwoods League baseball action at Simmons Field. Wausau led 2-1 going into the ninth inning, but Kenosha scored multiple runs on wild pitches in the final frame to earn their first win of the season in walk-off fashion.

Wausau Pilot & ReviewMARSHFIELD – D.C. Everest boys and girls team each had 13 sectional qualifiers with top-four finishes at a WIAA Division 1 track & field regional at Heiting Community Stadium at Marshfield High School on Tuesday. The top four finishers in each event qualify for a Division 1 sectional at Hudson on Friday. The top three in each event at the sectional moves on to the 2025 WIAA State Track & Field Championships on June 6-7 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

For Wausau Pilot & ReviewKENOSHA – The 2025 Northwoods League baseball season got off to the best possible start for the Wausau Woodchucks as they shut out Kenosha 3-0 to win on Opening Day on Monday at Simmons Field. It was Wausau’s 23rd shutout win since 2015, and the sixth shutout victory for the Woodchucks under manager Corey Thompson. It was also Wausau’s third shutout victory over Kenosha in the last decade.
