There will be a general debate on Holocaust Memorial Day in the Commons Chamber on Thursday 23 January 2025. The debate will be on the motion: “That this House has considered Holocaust Memorial Day.”Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) has taken place in the UK on 27 January since 2001. Each year, the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust chooses a different theme to enable audiences on Holocaust Memorial Day to learn something new about the past.

None of us should be surprised that our utility costs are going up. We don’t have a lot of options but to pay. The costs for water, sewer, solid waste and electric services are rising. Not at all unexpected. There are many factors that contribute to the increases: the cost the Metropolitan Water District charges Pasadena for water (more than half our water comes through MWD), the cost of electricity, and labor and material costs.

It is easy to feel helpless and powerless when confronted by political realities today. Sometimes it seems as if the special interests and loudest shouters get all the attention (and influence with policy makers.)In Washington and Sacramento, the government (elected and appointed officials) seems unable to even sympathize with citizens, let alone consider the impacts their actions have on people’s lives or do what may be in our best interests.

On Thursday 21 March 2024 there will be a Westminster Hall debate on the topic of ‘Easter, Christian culture and heritage’. The debate will be opened by Nick Fletcher MP. On making the application, Nick Fletcher MP said:This would be the third in the series of debates that I have had. The Committee granted me a similar debate last Easter, and it also granted me a Christmas debate last year. Both debates were well attended, and the numbers on the application have increased.
