So far 24 people have been killed in Israel and more than 500 injured. There was substantial damage in the heart of Tel Aviv and the central city of Petah Tikva as some missiles slipped through Israel’s air defence systems. Israelis have been told to stay close to shelters – in anticipation of another Iranian ballistic missile attack tonight.

Israel continued it’s heavy bombardment of Iran, with strikes on oil refineries and energy infrastructure. Iranian media say at least 128 were killed. Meanwhile, the UK has advised against all travel to Israel after some Iranian missiles broke through its air defence system. At least 15 people have been killed, with over 180 reported to be injured. One of the heaviest strikes fell in the Tel Aviv suburb of Bat Yam, with some people still missing.

Israel’s bombing of Iran involves hundreds of aircraft and is likely to continue for days, targeting nuclear facilities, air defences and key people in the scientific and military hierarchy. Iran says it’s illegal, state terrorism and that civilians have been killed as three of their top military leaders and nuclear scientists were assassinated. But its initial retaliation failed with around a hundred drones shot down.
