Despite the UCI running a gravel world championships each year, the star event in the gravel racing calendar remains the Unbound 200 race. Although there are Unbound Gravel race lengths from 25 miles up to 350 miles, it’s the 200-mile long Unbound Gravel 200 is the highlight event and attracts the elite riders. The event takes place in the Flint Hills of Kansas, starting in Emporia, with the 2025 race day being Saturday 31 May.

Zipp has launched two wheelsets with integrated tyre sensors, the £3,500 353 NSW, which at 1,310g is its lightest wheelset and the £1,700 303 SW, which is gravel-friendly and has a claimed 1,440g weight. The brand has introduced a new ZR1 SL hub for all its NSW wheelsets, which rolls on ceramic bearings and reduces 454 NSW and 858 NSW wheelset weights by 30g.

Canyon has upgraded the cockpit on its Ultimate and Endurace and made further changes to the Ultimate to improve ease of maintenance and tuning when out riding. Berlin-based Standert bikes has launched an aero update of its aluminium road bike, the Kreissäge RS. Standert specialises in steel and alloy framesets and it uses its top spec scandium-aluminium alloy in the Kreissäge RS, which it says results in a 10 percent weight reduction over standard aluminium alloys. The Kreissäge RS frameset is priced at €1,999, with a range of build options available with premium groupsets and wheelsets.
