U.S. media giant Comcast Corp will build its first Universal theme park and resort in Europe in Bedford, north of London, opening in 2031, the British government said on Wednesday. The park will create 20,000 jobs during construction and a further 8,000 jobs across the hospitality and creative industries when it opens, it said. It is expected to attract 8.5 million visitors in its first year, a number currently only exceeded in Europe by Disneyland Paris.

Britain was spared the most punitive treatment in Trump's tariff announcement on Wednesday, when it was hit with the lowest import duty rate of 10%, and it is pinning its hopes on securing a trade deal with the U.S. to soften the blow.

LONDON (Reuters) -British single-board computer maker Raspberry Pi forecast a steady build-up in demand this year after it narrowly beat 2024 earnings expectations, helped by sales of its flagship Raspberry Pi5 as well as its semiconductor units. The group, which went public in June last year, produces low-cost SBCs, accessories, and microcontrollers. Its SBCs are used in smart-home systems, robotics and automated systems, and video game emulators.
