    Skoda India’s sales in the month of May 2025 have garnered positive attention, largely due to the new Kylaq sub 4m SUV, which was launched in January 2025. Skoda India sales improved by 134% on a YoY basis to 6,740 units, up from 2,884 unit sales of May 2024. MoM sales however, dipped by 8% from 7,302 units sold in April 2025. It was in Jan 2025 that Skoda commenced deliveries of the new Kylaq compact SUV. It has been well received by buyers in India as its sales numbers indicate.

    FADA reported weak CV retail sales in May 2025 with an 11.25% MoM and 3.71% YoY declineSeveral factors such as price hikes, freight stagnation, lower freight cycles and liquidity constraints lead to lower commercial vehicle (CV) retail sales in May 2025. There were 75,615 units sold in this segment last month, marking a 2,915 unit volume decline from 78,530 units sold in May 2024. It was also significantly lower when compared to 85,203 unit sales of April 2025.

    In May 2025, Hyundai experienced a setback in sales, both year-over-year (YoY) and month-over-month (MoM). The company sold 43,861 units, which represents an 11% decline from the 49,151 units sold in May 2024. Additionally, this figure also marked a 1% decline from 44,374 unit sales of April 2025. Hyundai Creta and its EV counterpart were at No. 1 on the sales list. Creta sales showed a 1% YoY growth to 14,860 units, up from 14,662 unit sales of May 2024.
