    President-elect Donald Trump was welcomed back to the world stage on Saturday, sitting down with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskiy and French President Emmanuel Macron with a dramatic backdrop: the reopening of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame.     President-elect Donald Trump met with French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday ahead of the reopening of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame, which was devastated by fire in 2019. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is set to meet later Saturday with the two leaders at the Elysee Palace, an official in Macron’s office said, as the French president tries to initiate a discussion on ending the war in Ukraine.
