Dinitrogen (N ) fixation represents a key source of reactive nitrogen in marine ecosystems. While the process has been rather well explored in low latitudes of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, other higher latitude regions and particularly the Indian Ocean have been chronically overlooked.
