I'm a Fashion Editor who is incredibly lazy when it comes to accessorising with jewellery, but I can honestly say that anklets are the one piece I never fail to wear—apart from my wedding and engagement ring, of course. My reasoning? No matter this season (I wear them over tights in winter), they add a delicate and put-together touch to any outfit. They may now be associated with the Y2K trend, but I'm proud to say that anklets have been a staple for me since the first time round, back in the 00s.

I have a confession to make. Although I'm a Fashion Editor and curate shopping edits for a living, I am actually quite basic when it comes to footwear. In fact, you'll only see me wearing one style of shoe all summer long: flip flops. Trust me, in reality, they are far chicer than the beach bum idea you might have in your mind. Elevated flip flops have dominated the catwalk for years now, starting—as it often does—with The Row and their cult Ginza flip flops.

I'm always on the lookout for the next It bag. From the Valentino Nellcote bag that Bella Hadid and Alexa Chung can't stop wearing, to the suede bags the Marie Claire fashion team are obsessed with, no other accessory—in my opinion—has the power to instantly transform your outfit. This week, one particular bag has caught my eye, and the good news is that it will work beyond this season as well, thanks to its simple and timeless design.

If you're looking for the best accessories to invest in this season, a good source of inspiration is always your favourite celebrities. From the Chloe jelly sandals to suede trainers, you can always trust them to champion the It item that's worth wearing. Now the likes of Alexa Chung, Bella Hadid and actress Freen Sarocha have signalled that the designer handbag to invest in this season is courtesy of Valentino Garavani - and if you're loving the boho trend, this one is for you.

While I will never regret my actual wedding dress - a cream and gold Carolina Herrera tulle number - I do wish I'd thought a little harder about my bridal jewellery. In the end, I kept it super simple, borrowing some diamond ear studs from my grandmother, and of course I had my engagement and wedding rings. This was almost 10 years ago, and back then, I felt like my only options were dated pearl necklaces or sparkly drop earrings.
