FORT SMITH -- Two deputies stabbed Friday by an inmate in the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center are recovering from their injuries. One detention deputy was treated by a local emergency department and released Friday, according to Capt. Philip Pevehouse, public information officer for the Sheriff's Office. The other injured deputy underwent surgery Friday night and was sent to the Intensive Care Unit, Pevehouse said Monday morning.

FORT SMITH -- The public is invited Tuesday to join a tribute to law enforcement officers who gave their lives in protecting the community. The Annual Fallen Officer Memorial by the Fort Smith Police Department is co-hosted with the Sebastian County Sheriff's Office, according to a press release from the Department. It is set to start at noon Tuesday outside the Sebastian County Circuit Court Building, 901 South B St., the release states.
