When I took my job at NBC Sports about a year ago, a couple of people asked shortly thereafter if I’d be able to go to Paris for the Olympics. That seemed preposterous to me so I shot them down — until, lo and behold, I was told in February I’d be going to Paris for the Olympics. And now, somehow, I’m back after a trip that spanned from July 20 to August 12. I learned fewer than 10 French words but greater than 10 lessons about the Games, life abroad and more.

My iPhone is currently sitting at the bottom of a golf course's pond. Can I have a mulligan? Little did I know this would be the final photo I'd ever snap on my precious iPhone. I keep track of a lot of stuff on my scorecard beyond just my score. I record fairways hit. Greens hit, too. I also monitor feet of putts made, at least as best as I can.

The ones that show how one team felony-level stole a game and the other team choked like a post-strip club James Harden? Play-by-play announcers and color analysts say this word constantly and I’d enjoy it if they’d stop. As I’ve aged — I now have growing patches of gray hair on the sides of my head that are visible except for right in the post-haircut window; next stop: Wheelchairwithadiaperville— I find myself getting grumpier about lots of stuff. And as much as I’d like to not be grumpy about lots of stuff, I can’t control it. I’m essentially becoming a big jerk.
