The dog days of summer -- much less the NFL offseason -- haven't even arrived yet, but the countdown to the 2025 season can finally begin in earnest: Tuesday marks 100 days until the Cowboys and the reigning champion Eagles kick things off in Philadelphia.

Looking back at the 2022 NFL Draft, it's easy to see why good teams stay good and why bad teams are bad. When I went back and regraded that draft -- three years is when you can get a legitimate gauge on a draft -- it was obvious why some of the league's power teams are as good as they are right now and why some of the bottom teams drafted high again this year.

Mike Vrabel is entering his first year as the Patriots head coach, and if voluntary workouts are any indication of how he will run the team, the former New England linebacker will be making sure his players go all in on every snap, even in practice. Value is a tricky concept on a football field. No one denies that certain positions and certain players make more of an impact for a team's win-loss record than others. It's the attempts to quantify said impact that can be wonky. My favorite barometer is simply the NFL's own attempts to do so: contracts. 1 Eagles There won't be a ton of change, very little on offense, which is why they start here at the top. They will have a new offensive coordinator in Kevin Patullo after losing Kellen Moore to the Saints, so that could be an adjustment. 3 14-3-0 2 Chiefs They made a smart move to address left tackle in free agency and then again in the first round of the draft with Josh Simmons. The line is what held them back last year -- as evidenced by the Super Bowl.

Loads of rookie going to the Hall after their first minicamps

Wow. Abdul Carter has a number. Now I can get on with my life

Gabe Davis never looked like the same receiver he was in that playoff game against the Chiefs. In Jacksonville, he looked slow and sluggish. I know he was hurt, too.
