2 Alexandre Munoz kept Jules Roussel at bay to complete a double victory in the opening round of the French Formula 4 season at Nogaro. Munoz held the lead from pole position at the start in front of Roussel and Thomas Senecloze, with the safety car soon deployed after Zhelin Shen and Montego Maasen tangled. Their cars were quickly separated and hitched up ready to be towed away, but the race was then red-flagged while the clean-up was completed.

2 Alexandre Munoz and Arthur Dorison became the first French Formula 4 winners of 2025 as mixed weather conditions continued through Sunday’s opening races at Nogaro. After the rain of Saturday, the track was completely dry for race one and Mercedes junior driver Andy Consani retained the lead at the start from pole position ahead of Munoz.

3 Newly signed Mercedes Formula 1 junior driver Andy Consani claimed pole position on his car racing debut in a French Formula 4 qualifying session at Nogaro interrupted by five red flags. The half-hour free practice session on Saturday morning was stopped twice, with nine drivers setting flying laps before the first red flag period 11 minutes in. Alexandre Munoz was quickest at that point, a 1m48.389s putting him 1.522 seconds ahead of Montego Maassen.

2 Pepe Marti feels his decision making in “complete mayhem” was key to his charge from 11th to win the Bahrain Formula 2 sprint race. The Campos Racing driver rose from sixth following a safety car restart with five laps to go, taking the lead from Joshua Duerksen at the start of the last tour, with Richard Verschoor following him past to finish second. “I had so many close calls,” Marti told media including Formula Scout afterwards.

3 Rafael Camara continued his commanding form in FIA Formula 3 as he took a second successive pole position in Bahrain. The Trident-run Ferrari junior had followed his Melbourne pole and feature race victory by topping last month’s in-season test at Sakhir and Friday morning’s practice session, but wasn’t among the top 10 after the first runs at the start of qualifying. It was instead Nikola Tsolov fastest at that early stage ahead of Christian Ho, James Wharton and Alessandro Giusti.

2 Luke Browning will make another Formula 1 free practice appearance with Williams in Bahrain this week. The Formula 2 racer will take over Carlos Sainz’s car in Friday’s opening session at Sakhir, having made his F1 practice debut with Williams in Abu Dhabi at the end of last year. Last weekend he drove the team’s FW45 car from 2023 at Monza alongside fellow F2 racer Victor Martins, who recently joined the Williams academy following his departure from Alpine.

4 Freddie Slater will make an unexpectedly early FIA Formula 3 race debut in Bahrain next week with AIX Racing. The opportunity for Slater to contest the race weekend in Sakhir – which is currently a one-off outing – comes after he joined AIX for the three days of in-season testing at the circuit last week. He had previously tested in the series with Rodin Motorsport at the end of last year but committed to a dual programme of Formula Regional and GB3 for the 2025 season.

1 Williams has signed up Victor Martins to its Formula 1 young driver academy following his split from Alpine. Martins left the Alpine Academy at the beginning of 2025, amid the signings of Franco Colapinto, Paul Aron and Ryo Hirakawa as reserve drivers, having been supported by the Enstone-based team through six of his last seven seasons of racing.
