Gucci America Inc. is facing a lawsuit by Alto Dynamics LLC alleging infringement of patents related to verifying customers’ online user identity, monitoring consumer usage patterns, and a method for converting and manipulating data. Gucci, through the operation of its website, is infringing five patents held by Alto, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Maine health officials shook off a challenge to the state’s mandatory Covid-19 vaccination rule for health-care employees after a federal trial court found the claims are moot. The lawsuit became moot when the Maine Department of Health and Human Services amended the designated healthcare facilities worker immunization rule on Aug. 31, 2023 to remove the vaccination requirement, the US District Court for the District of Maine ruled.
