Florida State women's basketball star Makayla Timpson was selected by the Indiana Fever in the second round of the WNBA Draft on Monday. Timpson will play with her new teammate, the WNBA's rookie of the year Caitlin Clark, and former FSU great Natasha Howard. Timpson had a prolific four years at FSU. The three-time All-ACC is coming off a senior season where she was the second-leading scorer and top rebounder, averaging a double-double with 17.5 points and 10.6 rebounds a game.

Florida State football's offensive lineman Jaylen Early is the latest player to enter his name in the NCAA transfer portal. First reported by On3. Early is the second Seminole to enter the portal in the last two days, joining quarterback Trever Jackson. The redshirt junior from Duncanville, Texas, has two more years left of eligibility. The portal opens on Wednesday, April 16. The 6-foot-4, 307-pound lineman appeared in 18 games in his three-year career at FSU.

Makayla Timpson will be missed in Tallahassee. After four years of body work for Florida State women's basketball, she is moving on to the pros. The All-American forward will be the lone Seminole represented in the 2025 WNBA Draft, starting Monday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m.Her physical traits made her one of the top defenders in the ACC. In her senior year, she was part of one of the best scoring offenses in the country with Ta'Niya Latson and O'Mariah Gordon. FSU finished the year 24-9 (13-5 ACC).

No. 9 Florida State softball (40-6, 14-1) completed its California trip in the most dominating way on Sunday after running over Cal (27-14, 6-9), 16-3 in five innings, to complete a three-game sweep. FSU outscored Cal 35-7 throughout the series. Head coach Lonni Alameda couldn't ask for a better day to knock the balls out of the park. After leading 5-2 in the fourth, FSU scored 11 runs in the top fifth.

Florida State softball (39-6, 13-1) took game No. 2 against Cal (27-13, 6-8), 11-3, on Saturday to clinch the series victory in Berkely. After Lonni Alameda reached her 800th victory as FSU's head coach on Friday, she received win No. 300 in the ACC the next day. The Seminoles have yet to lose a series against an ACC opponent as they are 13-1 and remain at the top of the standings. FSU produced 11 runs on 11 hits.
