Figures released to members at the club’s latest meeting indicate that their Lendwithcare loans have not only created 1,201 entrepreneurs, but helped 4,624 family members. A total of 1,347 jobs have been created, 7,172 people have been helped.

    Artist and event coordinator Sam Waters announced that the preview event for Beyond Boundaries had ‘a real buzz,’ setting the stage for a successful exhibition at The Footprint Gallery, Jackfield Tile Museum. A highlight for Sam was the attendance of sponsor Patrick Smitheman, Managing Director of Harwood The Estate Agent of nearby Broseley, who not only attended the preview, but also purchased a painting. “This was brilliant,” said organiser Sam.

    Concord College invited students from five other schools, making up 12 delegations, to the conference at their Acton Burnell-based campus to debate a range of different issues. The visitors were from Shrewsbury School, Ellesmere College, Oswestry School, d’Overbroeks Oxford and King’s School Chester and the issues ranged from the hotly-contested nuances of regulating artificial intelligence to the Cuban Missile Crisis.

    For the company that owns and runs Shrewsbury’s Kingsland Bridge which crosses the River Severn linking Murivance and Kennedy Road is to introduce what it describes as ‘seismic changes.’In the first phase scheduled to start on May 28 the Shrewsbury (Kingsland) Bridge Company is to replace the four parking pay stations with a contactless card only payment system. The Monday-Saturday day rate fee will remain at £5, but a Sunday charge will be introduced at £2 for all day parking.

    Annual increases in U.S. merger notification thresholds and substantially increased filing fees take effect on March 6, 2024. The Federal Trade Commission ("FTC") announced that the Hart-Scott-Rodino ("HSR") Act filing thresholds will increase again in 2024. These thresholds determine which mergers and acquisitions must be reported to the federal government before consummation. The higher thresholds are expected to take effect on March 6, 2024, and will remain in effect through early 2025.
