    Police arrested a 57-year-old man as a premeditated murder suspect on Sunday, after an altercation with another 66-year-old man at a cafe outside Nicosia turned violent. The victim, Andreas Michaelides from Astromeritis was at a cafe on Saturday evening, when he argued with the suspect, 57. The suspect then hit the older man on the head, police said.

    The condition of an 80-year-old man, who was hospitalised at the Nicosia General after being bitten by a viper, is stable and improved, while a 74-year-old man who was also bitten by a viper was discharged from the Limassol General, doctors said on Sunday. According to a statement issued by the state health services organisation (Okypy), the 74-year-old from Nicosia on 22.4.2025 , while in a field in Limassol District, was bitten by a viper on the upper limb.
