The top boys golfers from across Nebraska are competing in Kearney this week to determine who’s the best in Class A. The Kearney Country Club is hosting the the NSAA Class A Boys Golf championship this year with officials saying the course requires a slower pace than usual, and that golfers will have to put extra thought into every shot.

The Rochelle Lee Morris Splash Pad is now ready for the public following a grand opening and ribbon-cutting event Wednesday evening. The new outdoor aquatic entertainment is located outside the Kearney Family YMCA, and will serve the entire Kearney community thanks to a partnership with the city.

    KEARNEY, Neb. - Athletes, police and community members in Central Nebraska are coming together to support local athletes with disabilities. The City of Kearney took part in Monday's annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, which is part of a statewide series of events supporting athletes with disabilities. Torch Run participants carried the Flame of Hope from the Younes Conference Center to the new Kearney SportsPlex along Talmadge Street.

    KEARNEY, Neb. - Jack Hoffman captured the hearts of people across the nation during his battle with brain cancer, and on Friday he was posthumously honored with a degree at graduation day in celebration of his legacy. Brianna Hoffman, pharmacist and co-founder of the Team Jack Foundation, delivered the commencement address to the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Class of 2025, before accepting Jack's special honor by the university.
