KINGSTON-Tuomas Uronen notched a hat trick as the Kingston Frontenacs hammered the Barrie Colts 9-4 on Thursday night to level the Ontario Hockey League Eastern Conference semifinal series at two games apiece. The Frontenacs scored twice before the second period was two minutes old to break a 1-1 tie and they never looked back, adding two more before the end of the frame and the rout was on.

Anthony Holtorf, convicted more than a year ago of attempted abduction and criminal harassment of numerous young girls near Angus, made a court appearance in Barrie on Thursday. During the brief proceeding, the Crown confirmed it will seek to have Holtorf, 37, declared a long-term offender. Court also heard that both the Crown and the defence and are in possession of a report from Dr. Alina Iosif, who had been mutually agreed upon by both sides during a previous court proceeding.

Two long-serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces are accused of a historic sexual assault alleged to have taken place at CFB Borden 23 years ago. Kevin Buchanan and Ian Koss each face a single count of sexual assault in relation to an alleged incident in 2002. None of the allegations have been tested in court and both men are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Koss’s lawyer made an appearance on his behalf on March 26 in Case Management Court (CMC) in Barrie.

Riley Patterson and Emil Hemming each scored twice as the Barrie Colts defeated the Kingston Frontenacs 7-4 to take a 2-0 series lead in their best-of-seven Ontario Hockey League semifinal at Sadlon Arena. The game was a see-saw affair until the Colts scored twice in a 1:28 span in the middle frame to take control. Anthony Romani, with his ninth of the postseason, Grayson Tiller and Brad Gardiner also scored for Barrie. Tiller and Kashawn Aitcheson each had two assists.
