A Conference League final awaits for Chelsea later this month. And with it, hopefully, a more competitive contest than what they have faced in the tournament’s knockout rounds. A 1-0 win over Swedish side Djurgarden, 5-1 on aggregate, was enough to book their place in Wroclaw, Poland, and maintain their pursuit of completing a clean sweep of European trophies.

Enzo Maresca has never played down the value of the Conference League to Chelsea. Good reaction second half from Chelsea but hiding to nothing after the red. Felt Newcastle had edged the battle of the midfielders in any case before the dismissal, and that's reflected by the scorers.

Early goal changes game state but before the red, this was another fixture where an opponent sits off and doesn't press, leading Chelsea to come unstuck. Nothing through the lines, no success out wide. Newcastle able to get set in their shape. Was comfortable, even more so now.

No No 9 for the rest of the season (with Guiu still out). Disastrous moment for Chelsea.

Daft, daft challenge from Jackson.
