In the context of history and more specifically, ancient Egyptian history, the idea of lost tombs is always an intriguing one. I don’t currently recall how I stumbled onto Dr. Chris Naunton’s book, Searching for the Lost Tombs of Egypt but at some point I did and eventually got around to reading it.

Akrotiri is a Minoan Bronze Age settlement situated on the Greek island of Santorini (classically and more recently referred to as Thera), in the southern Aegean Sea. Buried underneath ash and pumice, the site was discovered by Greek archaeologist Spyridon Marinatos in 1967 AD. Santorini is the largest island of the circular archipelago, the Cyclades. The greater parts of the island circle an active volcano.
