BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — Within Brentwood’s Maryland Farms development, you’ll find old southern charm and new trending businesses. Maryland Farms was once an agricultural hub belonging to J. Truman Ward, then the owner of Nashville’s WLAC radio. In the mid-1900s, there were over 100 horses training on the farm’s 400 acres. BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — In Williamson County, a historic one-room schoolhouse continues to influence young learners generations after it was built. Boiling Springs Academy opened in 1833 as a private school for young men. It’s located on Moores Lane near Wilson Pike in Brentwood, in what is now Primm Historic Park. By 1887, the building became a public school for Williamson County. Around 1900, a church moved in, too, taking over the first floor and moving the classroom upstairs.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — Standing tall on the side of Concord Road in Brentwood, Tennessee, is one of the oldest operating broadcast towers in the United States. The tower is responsible for transmitting the music of the Grand Ole Opry to generations of country fans. When it was built in 1932, the WSM antenna was the tallest in the country, standing at 878 feet tall. Seven years later, the height was reduced by 70 feet to improve the signal.
