RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Soon-to-be U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune was back in the Mount Rushmore State on Monday for the Thanksgiving holiday. The senator will be sworn in on Jan. 3, 2025. Senator Thune will take the reins as majority leader from Senator Mitch McConnell. Republicans will control the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives. Thune says, his top priorities are national security, securing the southern border and taxes.
