Jackson Page would rather have a place at the Crucible than his enormous bonus for two 147s, having fallen short in World Championship qualifying. The 23-year-old made snooker history in Sheffield as he became the first player ever to make two maximum breaks in the same match during a 10-2 win over Allan Taylor. However, he had a final qualifier to win to make the Crucible and fell short, beaten 10-7 by Joe O'Connor, who will take a place in Thursday's first round draw.

I counted 13 of us still there at the end of that. What a war. Great, great scrapping from Steven Hallworth but Anthony Hamilton hangs on to win 10-8 after leading 9-0. Really wish I'd had my tea before I came out. That was a mistake. That was a mistake. https://t.co/9GhIldnjs1

It is dead hot in here! Tell you what, if you want to see snooker players putting bow ties on in a car park then the English Institute of Sport is the place to be. https://t.co/WDvkRgrjxS

The Sheriff has looked great so far today. Still got it.
