    The state of Maryland is attempting to erase one of the pieces that remain of the history of African resistance in the U.S., and the violence the U.S. unleashed on them to repress it. On Friday, August 30, the Supreme Court of Maryland issued its decision in the case of Bethesda African Cemetery Coalition v. Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County.

    Despite the messaging from politicians, the new Maryland "Juvenile Justice" bill is another attack on African (Black) youth and, by extension, the whole of the African masses. Originally published in Black Alliance for Peace. The Black Alliance For Peace Baltimore Citywide Alliance and The Ujima People's Progress Party of Maryland strongly condemns Maryland House of Delegates for advancing House Bill 814. This legislation  revises consequences for children charged with crimes.

In hundreds of cardboard boxes stacked from floor to ceiling are the petitions presented to the NSW Parliament from hopeful citizens seeking everything from the abolition of daylight saving to the banning of the highly popular Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
