    March 21, 2025 A Cambridge city councilor was identified on Friday as one of some two dozen men facing charges of buying sex from women at what local and federal investigators describe as a high-priced brothel. The councilor, Paul F. Toner, was named during a second day of hearings determining probable cause to move forward in Cambridge District Court. Toner did not attend the hearing and could not be immediately reached for comment.

    March 14, 2025 A clerk magistrate on Friday found “sufficient evidence” to move forward with legal cases against at least 12 men accused of buying sex at a high-end brothel operation based in Massachusetts and Virginia. The hearings — held in Cambridge District Court — were the first of three scheduled to identify more than two dozen men allegedly involved in what federal prosecutors said was a “sophisticated” prostitution network first announced in 2023.

    Doctors from Harvard Medical School on Wednesday filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration contesting the disappearance of certain articles from a government-run website meant for medical researchers. The group claims the federal government deleted papers including words like “LGBTQ” and “trans” from the Patient Safety Network, a website meant to help doctors share research about medical errors, patient outcomes and misdiagnoses.
