Gardeners' World star Monty Don has shared the ultimate secret to growing great sunflowers as we move into May. Monty, who is also known for his series Monty Don's Paradise Gardens, says sunflowers need to be 'hardened off' for at least a week. Monty spilt the beans in his gardening blog: "By the middle of May tender annuals like Sunflowers, Zinnias, Cosmos or Tobacco plants can be planted out into all but the coldest gardens, especially if you have hardened them off for at least a week.

The Victoria Inn will be taking their last orders on Sunday, April 20 before re-opening under new leadership at a later date.
