My husband, Ron, enjoys catching me up on the latest with the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team. We’ve been to many games, and thanks to him, I know way more about the sport than I ever imagined I could learn. I’m not a complete rube. I lived in Albany, N.Y., for 20 years. Some of the hockey games I attended were farm team precursors to the Hurricanes. The Adirondack Red Wings were based an hour away in Glens Falls. In the early 90s, the Albany River Rats came along.
