The new Prime Video show Swarm, a thriller executive produced by playwright Janine Nabers and Donald Glover, explores the darker side of fan culture: Dominique Fishback plays Dre, a stan of the world’s biggest pop star (wink-wink, nudge-nudge: she’s a “killer bee” in the singer’s “hive”) whose single-minded obsession leaves her with blood on her hands. The show is fictional but draws its horror from our collective fear of being on the wrong side of all sorts of fandoms.

In a matter of days, the Western Conference found itself becoming a gauntlet once again. Just a week prior, the conference seemed wide open with a number of teams vying for a chance to make an appearance in the Finals; but with the craziness that is the trade deadline, teams found themselves re-tooling on the fly – one major team being the Los Angeles Clippers. It’s pretty difficult to wrap your mind around the fact that Jayson Tatum is yet to be 25 years old. While the joke for some time within NBA Twitter was “He’s just 19,” – the incredibly-decorated NBA resume for someone who’s yet to hit the quarter-century mark is impressive. Tatum has All-Star and All-NBA selections, a gold medal, and an inaugural Eastern Conference Finals MVP, along with his first Finals appearance last year. That Finals appearance was transformative for Tatum and the Celtics.
