It seems like just yesterday we were finally getting our hands on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro with their first-ever Tensor SoCs inside. And though it wasn’t that long ago that we welcomed the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL to the world, we’re already eagerly anticipating the Pixel 9a this summer and the Pixel 10 series in the early fall with its shiny new, fully in-house Tensor G5 chip. But like all things tech-related, Google is clearly not resting on the latest successes of the Pixel lineup.

As I made quite clear on Friday, I moved my primary SIM card over to the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and I used it for nearly 4 straight days to see what it would really be like. Having daily-drove the Galaxy Z Fold 5 for many months, I’m no stranger to the real-world ramifications of carrying a folding phone in my pocket. Additionally, I’ve been back on the Pixel 9 Pro XL for a little bit as well, so I had no issues immediately adapting to a folding, current-gen Pixel phone.

After a couple absolutely delightful weeks with the new Pixel 9 Pro XL, it’s time to truly take the Pixel 9 Pro Fold out for a real spin. As I said when I first got my hands on the Pixel 9 Pro XL – I really, really love this phone. So much so that I almost don’t want to begin the review process on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. I’m not really a phone reviewer and we generally only cover Google’s own, in-house Pixel devices; so when I find a phone I really like, I tend to stay put.

It turns out Google’s impressive-looking, expensive new foldable won’t play nice with the Pixel Stand 2 – Google’s own flagship wireless charger. Yeah. Launched back in 2021 alongside the Pixel 6 series, the Pixel Stand 2 has become a daily-use accessory for many Pixel users.
