A man in his 50s has been found dead among the wreckage of the house that was destroyed in a suspected gas explosionResidents were evacuated following a deadly suspected gas explosion that obliterated a terraced house have been unable to return home for another night. Emergency services were called to the scene on John Street, Worksop at 7.39pm on Saturday, April 12. Amongst the rubble of the property a man in his 50s was found dead on Sunday, Nottinghamshire Police confirmed.

A fox had to be rescued and cleaned up after being found stuck in a pool of tar-like heating oil in Leicester city centre. The animal was in a derelict car mechanic's garage, in the narrow pit used for working under vehicles which was flooded with heating oil. Helen Smith, the RSPCA inspector who saved the animal, said only its ears, eyes and nose were above the surface and its body was completely stuck.
