Humans dressed as bears aren't a particularly creative Halloween costume, but humans dressed as bears are kind of a creative way to help a little bear cub find his way back to the wild. As NBC News reports, the humans at the San Diego Humane Society are putting on bear costumes to entertain a young ursine charge who came into their care in April. The bear in question is a 2-month-old male black bear, and he's apparently taking the bait.

Juan Soto takes the cake with a massive 15-year, $765 million deal, but there's a notable asterisk to the top 10 moneyballers: Shohei Ohtani, who signed a 10-year, $700 million deal in 2024, but deferred the bulk of his earnings until much later in his career. He thus comes in at No. 18 on the list of highest-paid baseball players in 2025.

Some 93 truckloads of humanitarian aid crossed into Gaza on Tuesday, but the UN says it's been stymied in its efforts to get the flour, baby food, medical equipment, and medicine into the hands of actual Gazans. A UN rep says that their workers "waited several hours" for access to the aid, reports the BBC, but none made it into their warehouse. The Washington Post reports that was because Israelis forced the unloading and re-loading of the trucks at the border, driving the effort past dark.

Jerry Falwell Jr. has long been out at Liberty University, but it's just coming to light that Liberty University is out a substantial hunk of cash over his exit. As USA Today reports, the former president and namesake of Liberty's founder was paid on the order of $15 million following his 2020 exodus over behavior that decidedly flouted the rules of its staunchly Christian code of conduct.

As Variety reports, such is the case of the former HBO Max, reborn as the more simple Max, and now once again HBO Max. Parent company Warner Bros. Discover announced the decision Wednesday: "Returning the HBO brand into HBO Max will further drive the service forward and amplify the uniqueness that subscribers can expect from the offering.
