The University of Greater Manchester announced on Tuesday that Professor George Holmes, its vice-chancellor, has been suspended alongside the institution's provost and a senior member of academic staff.

"Schools need to be flexible, welcoming places which prioritise well-being and respectful attitudes so that everyone can work and learn successfully," he added.
