While many in Sonoma County were prepping for Thanksgiving, one local nonprofit was already readying for the next holiday: unloading a few hundred Christmas trees onto Windsor's town green. It was June when the Windsor Parks and Recreation Foundation, also known as People 4 Parks Windsor, began planning its 16th annual Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Grove. Now, just days away from a tree lighting ceremony, it is full steam ahead. Tina Castelli is with People 4 Parks.

“I have done it (trick-or-treating) before … a bit, but it is not at all the same as it is here,” she said. “(In Sweden) if you’re 16 you don’t go out trick or treating but here everyone does it.”Ivarsson is also excited about experiencing the exclusively American holiday, Thanksgiving, and the modern take on the holiday, Friendsgiving. “I have been very lucky in that I found a friend group super quickly who invited me to everything,” she said. She is excited about the food, especially the turkey.

Abraham Solar y Gloria McCallister, quienes desde el 6 de octubre arrancaron la temporada con su tradicional festejo en la Iglesia de St. Vincent de Paul en Petaluma, organizan los eventos de celebración a los difuntos desde hace más de veinte años en esta ciudad.
