This historic photo is of the Village Office taken in 1958. This property is roughly just behind the current location of Save On Foods on Harold Street. Photo courtesy of the Princeton Museum collection. This location was undoubtedly subject to flooding.

Here is a view of the cement plant, circa 1913. According to Todd Davidson with the Princeton Museum, the first electrical power came from the coal-fired generator there. Italian masons were engaged to build the facility. The British Columbia Portland Cement Company only lasted a short time and the reasons for this are still debated. The community of East Princeton was created to support this factory and the street names there bear witness. Photo courtesy Princeton Museum collection.
