The first Truckee Literary Crawl culminates in an Open Mic Night at Alibi Ale Works Truckee Public House on Friday, April 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. This special evening invites writers, poets, musicians, and spoken word artists to take the stage and share their creative expressions. Writers are invited to create a work to share at the Open Mic around the Dark Skies theme. Nevada County Poet Laureate Karen Terrey will host the Open Mic.

It’s been a long day; your stomach is growling and the age-old question of what to make for dinner arises. Most of us want a quick, easy cooking solution, especially during the weeknights. With the weather cooling, turning on the oven and grabbing a sheet pan might be the answer to dinner. I often use this method to create a delicious meal with little fuss. Onion, garlic, olive oil, herbs and seasonings create a foundation for several sheet-pan recipes.
