Starting this weekend, some of the Coventry city centre car parks will be cheaper for the next three months. From Saturday, April 19, visitors to the city will pay just £2.50 between 7am and 6pm at specific car parks. There have been many changes around the city centre's car parks, many of which are closing due to the City Centre South development. A new car park opened in August 2024 on New Union Street, as the old multi-storey car park was dubbed an 'eyesore' and 'very neglected'.

A special school in Rugby that was at risk of losing funding from the Department of Education in 2022 if improvements were not made has transformed in two and a half years to a 'Good' Ofsted rating. Brooke School was rated as 'inadequate' and placed in special measures by the schools watchdog in May 2022. The DofE previously sent the school a warning letter stating if they were not satisfied the school could improve funding would be transferred to an alternative academy trust.

A city opticians has unveiled new hi-tech kit which could help detect deadly conditions. Boots Opticians in Coventry is one of two city stores to provide customers with the most advanced eye tests. The Cheylesmore branch on Daventry Road has unveled optomap, a test that helps detect signs of serious health conditions including signs of diabetes and heart disease. Tests, which scan a large portion of the eye's retina, can also give an early warning to the risk of strokes.
