ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville Parks & Recreation has officially unveiled the grand opening of pool season. Due to the effects of Hurricane Helene, the only community pool which will be open in the APR network this summer will be the outdoor pool at Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center, 285 Livingston St., which will open its doors for Memorial Day Weekend. ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — While there are dozens of shops at Tanger Outlets Asheville, the outlet mall on Brevard Road, there is only one Overlook Coffee Collective, and very soon, it won’t be at Tanger. Overlook Coffee owner Carrie Prado said she was blindsided by the news that Tanger would not be renewing her lease after two years with the company. Instead, she learned, the outlet mall planned to reinstate a Starbucks in the space, which the coffee chain had previously occupied.

HENDERSONVILLE, NC – It’s safe to say Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters put the honey in honesty. Platt and her band, The Honeycutters, are an Americana group based in Asheville, NC. The quintet ventured down the highway Saturday, April 26 to play an intimate show at the 117-seat Hendersonville Theatre. Platt and The Honeycutters have played Hendersonville before, but even if the room were filled entirely with newcomers to their music, the atmosphere would be a comfortable sense of chill.

On April 15, Tax Day, Kona Ice is offering free cups of shaved ice at four local ice truck locations to celebrate taxpayers chill out after filing their returns.
