Four people were murdered in separate incidents across the country over the weekend, the Namibian Police have confirmed. National police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi on Monday evening said the killings took place between Friday and Sunday at Gochas, Katima Mulilo, Gobabis and Rehoboth. At Gochas, Muammar Richter (33) died instantly after he was stabbed in the neck with a knife at Hei-Aib location around 15h00 on Friday.

A woman (35), Delysia Garoes, was found dead in a riverbed at Katutura’s Gamengde area in the cold early yesterday morning in what police suspect to be a case of rape and murder. One of Garoes’ neighbours, who preffered to remain anonymous, said they saw and heard her screaming for help while she was lying in the riverbed. The incident is believed to have occurred around 06h30.
