1. IntroductionComposite beam bridges are widely adopted as they combine the benefits of steel and concrete to create efficient bridge structures [1,2]. However, in continuous composite beam bridges, the cracking of the concrete deck in negative bending moment regions near supports is an issue [3,4]. Scholars have proposed several methods to prevent concrete cracking in the negative bending moment regions of composite bridges.

1. IntroductionThe shear connector in the steel–concrete composite girder bridge tightly combines the concrete bridge deck with the steel main girder together to resist the effects of external loads. These connectors not only transmit the horizontal shear force along the steel–concrete interface, but also resist the vertical separation between steel and concrete [1].
