The bedrock of the genre is, as always, ever-shifting over past versions of itself. So, it is unsurprising that the best fantasy of 2024 is quite unique.

As time moves ever onward, we must all decide which of the best bookish clocks we want in our lives. Otherwise, how would we know how long we’ve been reading for? Clocks are a useful, artistic piece of machinery that does one job well.

It is easy to get hooked on a good book and even easier to get hooked on bookish crochet goods. Who doesn’t love to get a cozy gift paired with a new book? Crochet, like most fiber art, is a versatile medium. With the right pattern, you can make a doll, a blanket, a scarf, a bag, or a bookmark.

Backpack fantasy books are, as Wyngraf puts it, fantasy books where adventurers move through the wilds to conquer goals as opposed to a home or community.

There are certain things about the past that any historical romance is willing to hand-wave away. In return, readers of the genre buy into that imagined past. Queer historical romance is perhaps more radical in its approach.

Like so many fabulous winged creatures, romantasy books continue to fly off the shelves. It’s undeniable that romantasy is quickly becoming a major subgenre. I think it might be useful to establish the parameters of the subgenre, and discuss a few favorite examples of romantasy books to see what aspects have made them so attractive to readers.
