We conclude our release of the winners for the spring sports with the Baseball Athlete of the Year. Middleton senior Ian Lenius had a bit of a rough start to the 2025 season. But after a chat with coaches and a change in mindset early in the season, he got back to playing at his best.

Sports Stars is an honor given out by the Idaho Press seasonally to recognize the top athletes in each sport. We continue our release of the winners for the spring sports with the Softball Athlete of the Year. This season, the Bishop Kelly softball team set out on a quest to capture the 5A state title for the fourth time since 2019. Leading the charge was senior Lauren Fettic, who excelled on both sides of the field.

Note: The 5A state golf tournament was held in the fall, but with the 4A and 3A tournaments taking place this spring, the winners for golf are announced in the spring. Bishop Kelly senior Will Comstock ended his high school golf career on the highest note possible.

Sports Stars is an honor given out by the Idaho Press seasonally to recognize the top athletes in each sport. We continue our release of the winners for the spring sports with the Boys Tennis Athlete of the Year. Bishop Kelly sophomore Rhett Locke has been playing tennis for most of his life. As a freshman, he reached the IHSAA state tournament, but didn’t make it past the quarterfinals. This past season, he was determined to make a run through the entire tournament.
