    Middleton was the only school from the area to win a state championship this season, hoisting the 6A championship trophy for the first time since 2018. The Vikings had plenty of representation on the 2025 All-Southern Idaho Conference teams, led by Pitcher of the Year Ian Lenius. The hard-throwing lefty had a 2.55 ERA in 49 ⅓ innings this season with 82 strikeouts. Nine Middleton players in total earned all-conference honors. Owyhee slugger Gage Haws was named the 6A SIC Player of the Year.

    Four schools from the Treasure Valley won state softball titles this season, with the top teams heavily represented on the postseason all-conference lists. In the 6A Southern Idaho Conference, state champions Owyhee had nine players earn all-conference honors, including four on the first team. Two more appeared on the second team and three more were honorable mention. But the top recognition in the conference went to Timberline’s Delaney Wright, who was named the Player of the Year.

    The Northwest Nazarene baseball team returns to the field Saturday for its first game of the NCAA Division II College World Series. As the No. 5 seed, the Nighthawks will take on No. 4 University of Texas at Tyler at 11:30 a.m. MT. The winners from the eight super regionals across the country advanced to the College World Series and were re-seeded and split into two, four-team brackets. Both brackets are double elimination.

    Northwest Nazarene is heading to the East Coast for its final road trip of the season. The Nighthawks flew to Cary, North Carolina, on Wednesday in advance of the NCAA Division II College World Series. The final stage of the NCAA Tournament begins Friday at the USA Baseball Training Complex, concluding June 7. In the eight-team field, Northwest Nazarene earned the No. 5 seed. The field is split into two, four-team double-elimination brackets.

The Bears getting early prime time games is one thing. The fact they're likely getting 3 late in the season is another. The NFL expects them to be good this year.
