The governors of the states of the South-South will on Thursday, 18 January 2024, converge on Benin City, the Edo State capital, for a meeting of the Governors’ Council of the BRACED Commission. The BRACED Commission, comprising the six states of the South-South – Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo and Delta – was established in 2010 under Article 14 of the BRACED Agreement and signed on June 13, 2011.

Burkina Faso kicked off their campaign at the 2023 Nations Cup with a 1-0 victory over Mauritania, thanks to Bertrand Traore’s late winner. Jose Mourinho has been sacked as coach of Roma, the Serie A side announced Tuesday, saying it was “in the best interests of the club”. The Edo State Government has entered a new partnership with leading renewable energy company, Oando Clean Energy Limited, for the deployment of electric buses to enhance the State’s transportation system. This is just as the state government also sealed a deal for a wind energy project with a capacity of 175 Megawatt. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Edo State government and Oando clean energy took place at the Government House in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

The refinery will then extend in phases to the production of petrol, kerosene and liquefied petroleum (cooking) gas, among others, with a surplus of each of these products for export.
